The best restaurant in Kona for morning and midday dining… My wife and I absolutely loved the Fish hopper restaurant… We couldn’t get enough of it … Their breakfast and noon food is excellent ! The only thing we didn’t like were their cake deserts. They were too dry with no real taste … - 2 days ago
First rainy night welcome Server was outstanding, friendly, helpful. Food was excellent, drinks featured a generous pour. Watched the rain and the waves break against the wall. Came back again for breakfast before we went home. Glad there was parking. - 3 days ago
Excellent casual dinner by the bay We stopped by as it was close to our hotel and we were tired after walking most of the day. Dinner and drinks came off the daily special menu, an excellent Pinof Noiir and chardonnay. Wife had the special Ahi nachos - a big plate of chips and chunks of tune with a vocado and seasoning. Mine was a Opakapaka (snapper) over grilled asparagus with fruit relish, sweet potato (purple) and a slice of dragonfruit (pink). Unusual colors.
Highly recommended. - 1 week ago
Tasty Dinner! Yum, this was tasty! I had the shrimp prepared several different ways, it was yummy! The mashed potatoes and vegetables were also good. I sampled the Ono and the ahi, all delicious. We also got dessert, a carrot cake and a lilikoi cheesecake, both delicious. A great stop in Kona! - 1 week ago
Great dinner great view Fish was so fresh. The view was beautiful. The desserts were amazing. We stumbled on this place driving by and were able to get a table walking in at 5 pm. You will not be disappointed - 2 weeks ago
One of the best places to dine in Kona ~ The adult beverages are excellent! The service is friendly and fast. The chef is a Genius. This is some of the best food (outside of my grandmothers) I have ever had. I would return ~ - 2 weeks ago
Amazing view and a great breakfast Our first morning on The Big Island and we really wanted a great breakfast, with a great view, and without breaking the bank on day one. The Fish Hopper checked all the boxes. Amazing view of the water and breakfast was reasonably priced. I had the breakfast special of 2 eggs, portuguese sausage, potatoes, and toast. Everything was cooked perfectly (and I’m a breakfast snob). Plenty of portion to fill a hungry appetite. Moderately priced but worth every penny. My partner had pretty much the same but also had the pancakes and commented they were delicious. Breakfast can be ordered with Kona coffee and if you like your coffee, you will not be disappointed. Staff were very attentive and what I appreciated more was that even if your server was busy, other staff members stepped in to make sure your breakfast needs were met (e.g. water capped off, coffee capped out, clearing dishes from the table, etc.).
Definitely recommend The Fish Hopper for breakfast, - 3 weeks ago
Great sea food at great location We were just strolling thru Kona when we noticed the location of this restaurant with the great view of the ocean and decided to try it! The food was excellent the menu offered a lot of local recipes and great seafood plates to share! The waiter was very friendly and witty! Overall was a great dinning experience! - 3 weeks ago
Great service, food was good We love the Fish Hopper in Monterey, specifically their clam chowder. It was just as good in Kona! The service was great. Tables were distanced and there was lots of fresh air. However, we had the worst mai tai ever. One that burned the gut and gave an immediate head ache. Not the best rum. After this meal, we made sure at future ones that we asked what rum was used.
However, the chowder was so good, we went back after a night snorkel trip to warm up. Second trip I had the bread bowl. Bread was warm and fresh and yummy! - 3 weeks ago
Hamburger Heaven We had lunch there n have 2 recommend their Fish Hopper Signature Burger n it was the best burger I've had in a long time: juicy doesn't do it justice. Sam was wonderful with our questions n the libations were equally great. U gotta go! - 4 weeks ago
