Great Fish and chips April 2019 ---- It was my last night with my friend and it was the best place to be. Fish and Chips simple and delicious Very helpful staff. Lots of people coming and going outside, our window was open so we could see the passing families and couples on their night out.
It was a great holiday and a lovely way to say goodbye - for now it was a great night to remember, for Now.
I cant put any other date other than November 2019 on wards. - 3 weeks ago
Great food and divine deserts My husband and I decided to try some of the Kona restaurants after living here for a year. We stopped here for lunch one day and I ordered the sword fish, he ordered the Mahi-Mahi. Both meals came out beautifully plated and the taste was everything you could hope for. We also ordered a couple delightful, alcoholic drinks.
After dinner our server offered us deserts. I got lilikoi cheesecake and he got mango something. Both were so delicious and creamy, the flavors popped and it was the perfect end to a wonderful meal! I will absolutely go again. - 2 months ago
Wonderful food, wonderful view, wonderful people. Mahalo and Aloha for the Kokua! My husband, our daughter and I have lived in Kona for more than 10 years. We have not eaternhere since we watched the Ironman Parade of Nations about 8 years ago. We have just been busy. I have also been a server, bartender, and manager in this town off and on during our time here. My husband is a tour guide with Kapohokine Adventure Tours. Our daughter graduated Kealakehe High School in 2017 and currently teaches at the Boys and Girls Club of America in Wailuku, Maui. We love this restaurant. Today we had the Poke Nachos, Mahi Mahi Tacos and Carrot Cake. Everything was great and every bit worth the price. Our friendly, responsible server/bartender, Ken, was the bomb. The manager who I believe is named Kathleen was excellent, friendly, responsible, kind. The woman in the coffee tasting shop was also friendly and otherwise delightful. The busser Marvin who graduated Kealakehe 2014 knows my daughter and her friends. He packed what was left of our carrot cake for us to take to enjoy tonight. Mahalo and Aloha for all of the extra Kokua right now. It was such a pleasure to eat a great meal in public with other actual humans. Keep up the great work everyone. We really appreciate you. No worries. This too shall pass. : ) - 2 months ago
Local’s favorite restaurant. Eating breakfast does not have so many choice under Covid 19. The place has spacious seating so very safety dining inside of the restaurant. Fast serving but taste good. Ocean view restaurant will be good start to explore Kailua-Kona area. Pi Rick parking near restaurant. - 2 months ago
No complaints Good food and a nice atmosphere. Service was excellent. I can see how they could cram in a lot more tables, but due to Covid restrictions there is a feeling of peace and quiet in spite of several families with active children. I really appreciated that relaxing ambiance.
Waitress was cheerful and quick.
I will definitely return. - 3 months ago
As good as always at Fish Hopper My friends and I finally got together after months of lockdown and we chose to celebrate at the Fish Hopper. What a great decision! We had a beautiful meal filled with seafood specials including sesame crusted opah and scallop risotto. The lovely bartender Katie took great care of us with wonderful service and delicious wine, mai tai cocktails. We even took her advice and splurged for dessert and after dinner cordials! Katie wore a mask and washed her hands a lot but said she didn’t mind as long as she was back to work and having fun again with guests. The three of us had a wonderful time and we will be back again soon. - 4 months ago
One of The Best in Kona My wife and I loved this place. We stayed near Kona and used to walk here a couple times a week for lunch. Excellent food, awesome staff and tasty beer selection. One of the best vacations we have ever had. I truly hope we can return someday, however, I fear it will never be the same since the COVID-19 came upon us. We hope for the very best for the staff and restaurant owners. - 6 months ago
Nice Choice on Hoppin' Alii Drive Our family was looking for a fun dinner choice to anchor our evening exploring Alii Drive,. We found Fish Hopper through TripAdvisor Reviews and were not disappointed. The Poke Nacho appetizer on the specials menu was phenomenal - a must try if available. All of the meals were solid with a nice variety on the menu for the entire family. An extremely wide variety of desserts made it impossible to bypass the impressive dessert tray. The fun open air vibe and high quality food made this a good choice on hoppin' Alii Drive. - 6 months ago
Very Good Food and Service The food was very good here with great service. Had the land and sea burger and my wife had the Parmesan Chicken. Lauren took care of us and provided great service. It was a bit spendy however the food was good. - 6 months ago
Kona Dining Gem!! One of our favorite big island dining locations. W drove over from Waikoloa twice during our recent stay. We had seafood both evenings, excellent coconut shrimp!! The desserts are AMAZING, we ate them at the restaurant the first night and took them back to our condo the second evening. Prices are in line with other better restaurants on the big island. Chocolate cheese cake and macadamia nut pie were worth the drive.
Highly recommended, great location across the street from the bay. - 6 months ago
