4 star rating No complaints Good food and a nice atmosphere. Service was excellent. I can see how they could cram in a lot more tables, but due to Covid restrictions there is a feeling of peace and quiet in spite of several families with active children. I really appreciated that relaxing ambiance.
Waitress was cheerful and quick.
I will definitely return. - 1 week ago

5 star rating As good as always at Fish Hopper My friends and I finally got together after months of lockdown and we chose to celebrate at the Fish Hopper. What a great decision! We had a beautiful meal filled with seafood specials including sesame crusted opah and scallop risotto. The lovely bartender Katie took great care of us with wonderful service and delicious wine, mai tai cocktails. We even took her advice and splurged for dessert and after dinner cordials! Katie wore a mask and washed her hands a lot but said she didn’t mind as long as she was back to work and having fun again with guests. The three of us had a wonderful time and we will be back again soon. - 1 month ago

5 star rating One of The Best in Kona My wife and I loved this place. We stayed near Kona and used to walk here a couple times a week for lunch. Excellent food, awesome staff and tasty beer selection. One of the best vacations we have ever had. I truly hope we can return someday, however, I fear it will never be the same since the COVID-19 came upon us. We hope for the very best for the staff and restaurant owners. - 3 months ago

5 star rating Nice Choice on Hoppin' Alii Drive Our family was looking for a fun dinner choice to anchor our evening exploring Alii Drive,. We found Fish Hopper through TripAdvisor Reviews and were not disappointed. The Poke Nacho appetizer on the specials menu was phenomenal - a must try if available. All of the meals were solid with a nice variety on the menu for the entire family. An extremely wide variety of desserts made it impossible to bypass the impressive dessert tray. The fun open air vibe and high quality food made this a good choice on hoppin' Alii Drive. - 3 months ago

5 star rating Kona Dining Gem!! One of our favorite big island dining locations. W drove over from Waikoloa twice during our recent stay. We had seafood both evenings, excellent coconut shrimp!! The desserts are AMAZING, we ate them at the restaurant the first night and took them back to our condo the second evening. Prices are in line with other better restaurants on the big island. Chocolate cheese cake and macadamia nut pie were worth the drive.
Highly recommended, great location across the street from the bay. - 4 months ago

5 star rating Support this Restaurant I had an excellent meal last evening ... Take Out of course... of Macadamia Nut Crusted Mahi with seasonal Veggie and Hawaiian Sweet potatoes. Excellent! They are offering a 10% discount even in these hard times. Plus The Fish Hopper is feeding its own laid-off employees every day! Not only is the Food very tasty, but they are also doing the right thing during this COVID-19 pandemic. I'm supporting my local business. - 4 months ago

5 star rating We ate here for breakfast, lunch and dinner We ate here three times over a period of five days. Prices are a little high but food was delicious. The first time was for breakfast: one of us had the scumptious Ono Benedict and the other had the tasty homemade corned beef hash. Including two cups of coffee and tax, the bill was $40. We wished we could have returned for another breakfast because the menu was appealing.
The second time we came was for dinner. We shared a Caesar salad and red wine sangria. One of us ordered the Macadamian Mahi and the other the Hawaiian Ginger Ono. Both main dishes were satisfying. Bill totaled $89.
On our last full day in Kona, we lunch on Fish N Chips and the exceptional fish combo with battered fried mahi, calamari rings, and prawns. The tab was $39. - 4 months ago

5 star rating Best Kona meal experienced Great food in a great environment. The Fish and Chips were lightly battered and not greasy at all. The Crusted Mahi and Shrimp were exquisitely prepared. The Kona Coffee Cheesecake was excellent with an Oreo crust, a layer of mousse and then the rich cheesecake on top. - 4 months ago

4 star rating Excellent flavors We celebrated an anniversary dinner here. Nice view of the ocean, especially at sunset. Our waitress, Vicki, was super nice and attentive.
My tastebuds normally are lousy but boy oh boy, my tastebuds woke up and I tasted flavors that were so enjoyable. I have not had such a delicious meal in a very long time. My husband said that his meal was extremely tasty and enjoyable as well.
We had 3 drinks - (1) Mai Tai and (2) Raspberry Lava Flows.
2 Entrees: Hawaiian Ginger Ono, mixed vegetables and a crab cake. A 10 oz filet mignon, loaded baked potato with an added lobster tail.
2 Desserts: Guava cake with likoli frosting and carrot cake
Total without tax and tip was $ 166, it was definitely worth the price for our celebration. - 4 months ago
