5 star rating Food and service was great! Would highly recommend! my husband got the ravioli with mushrooms, artichokes, and spinach and he said they were the best that he's ever had and I got the triple fish dish and it was the best fish I ever had and the service and the atmosphere. I don't know if it gets any better than that. - 3 days ago

4 star rating The Chowder I Still Think About

We stopped by for our first meal during a staycation in Kona. Right across the water, we had the most beautiful view.

Our friendly server raved about their clam chowder and told us how famous it was. Of course, I had to get a cup.

My only regret? Not getting the bread bowl for a bigger serving.
The chowder was rich, creamy, and so good that I still think about it. You know a dish made an impression when you're regretting the size you ordered long after the meal is over.

Definitely a must-go-back the next time I'm in Kona and cruising down Ali'i Drive.

And yes, I'm getting the bread bowl next time. - 2 weeks ago

5 star rating Beautiful location right on the main road in Kona with an amazing view of the water. The food was delicious, especially the fresh, locally caught seafood. The clam chowder was seriously THE BEST I've ever had! It's an absolute MUST!

It is a little pricey, but you're in a tourist town, eating fresh seafood with an ocean view, so that's pretty expected and I didn't think the prices were outrageous. Good service.

The decor is a little outdated, but honestly, that's kind of part of the Hawaii charm. We tried quite a few of the popular restaurants along this stretch while we were in Kona, and The Fish Hopper was easily our favorite. - 4 weeks ago

We have no complaints at all. Everything was beautifully made and plated. Sat by the windows, the view was amazing. Service was great. Would def come back. - 1 month ago

4 star rating Located steps from the ocean in the heart of Kona. Came for breakfast. The special for $14.95 is a bargain. Two eggs, potatoes, choice of meat, and toast. Mimosas and Bloody Marys are only $5.99. Can't beat the ambiance looking out on the ocean, and the service is great. Will be back. - 2 months ago

5 star rating Food was consistently good here. We went 4 times during our trip to Kona - twice for breakfast and twice dinner! It was our kids' fav restaurant and they didn't want to go anywhere else after trying a few others. The clam chowder and the ribs were the best! Great atmosphere too right by the water. We already miss eating here. - 2 months ago

4 star rating Chowder is actually really good. I come back to this place for chowder, but I have also had the pasta Isabella, and that is amazing!!! drinks are a bit overpriced. That is why I gave four stars. Food is great. - 2 months ago
